What to recite before moving into a new home

Q: One of my family members has put in an offer and would probably end up purchasing an apartment that belonged to a deceased gay couple. Kindly advise if there is any part of the Qur'an, Duas or Wazifas that should be recited before occupying the place.
A: A place that had been preoccupied with evil, filth and dirt should be cleansed thoroughly, washed out and the name of Allah be taken in abundance and in all the rooms the recitation of the Qur'aan Shareef should be made. The first 3 verses of Surah Baqarah and the last 3 verses are very effective. Daily recitation of the Qur'aan is very beneficial with some zikr and some du`aa.
