Secretly recording a conversation

Q: Is it permissible to record a conversation where the person recording it wants to get information out to use against a third person? The person being recorded is unaware of the conversation being recorded.

A: If it is done for a valid reason e.g. the one recording wishes to retrieve his shari' rights e.g. recording the details of a mas'alah that relates to one or the details of an estate being wounded by certain Aalim or one wishes to save oneself or others from oppresion, then there will be no problem in this.
