How do you go about drawing up a will?

Q: I would like to know how do you go about drawing up a will, as I have 2 Sons & 1 Daughter & 4 grandchildren?

A: There are many Ahaadith that have been reported regarding the rewards and virtues of preparing a will.

Hadhrat Abdullah bin Umar (Radiallahu anhuma) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said: “It is not permissible for any Muslim who has something to bequeath to stay for two nights without having his last will and testament written and kept ready with him. (Muslim vol.2 pg.39).

Hadhrat Ibnu Umar (Radiallahu anhuma) says: “After hearing this from Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam), I did not allow even one night to pass by me except that I had my wasiyyah written down.”(Muslim vol.2 pg.39)
