Waiters not receiving a salary

Q: In certain fast food establishments, the staff are not paid wages. The staff survive on tips of the customers. Is this permissible in Islam?

A: If the waiters are working voluntarily, they are happy to work without taking any type of remuneration, they do not complain nor do they demand and request a wage and they are comfortable with this arrangement, then it is permissible.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
