Haraam relationship

Q: I am a girl and I have a best friend who is a guy. It’s been a few days since I started practicing Islam. I told him to do the same. He did. Now I came to know that the interaction with non-mahrams should be avoided. I tried to convince him. But I am afraid that he is new on this path and may go the wrong way if I leave him alone in the beginning. I can’t abandon him because he may move to the wrong way. I can’t stay because it is prohibited. Please tell me what should I do.

A: This relationship is a haraam relationship. You should immediately end this haraam relationship and seek Allah Ta'alas forgiveness for getting involved in it. Make a firm resolve that you will not continue with this haraam relationship in the future. As a believer your primary concern should be to remain obedient to Allah Ta'ala at all times and to refrain from displeasing him. Hence, ignore these doubts and stray thoughts. These doubts are from shaitaan. Shaitaan's aim is to mislead you from the straight path and keep you perpetually involved in the disobedience of Allah Ta'ala. Instead of you being worried about saving him from going towards wrong, you should be more worried about saving yourself from haraam.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
