Q: Can a person do a nafl Qurbaani and Aqeeqah in one sheep?

A: We did not come across any clear ruling of the Fuqaha in this maslah. However, examining the fiqhi usool, we understand that since both these Ibaadats are regarded as separate ibaadats, and the objective of both are different, they cannot be combined ̶ Aqeeqah is carried out at the time of childbirth for the benefit of the child and Nafl Qurbaani is carried out as a sacrifice for Allah Taala during the days of Qurbaani. You may refer to other Ulama in regard to the maslah.
