Giving a discount to the purchaser after the sale is concluded

Q: My parents take products which they pay for later.

1. Sometimes they pay a few rands extra out of love. Is this fine?

2. Sometimes, I wish to give them a discount when I’m sending them the account (as they sometimes help me to clear stock that is close to date). Can I give them a discount after they have taken possession?

A:

1. As long as the price is fixed at the time of the sale, the transaction is valid. If they wish to give you a few rands extra, it is permissible.

2. Yes, it is permissible for you to give them a discount.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
