Keeping the pants above the ankles

Q: What is the ruling/status regarding the pants above the ankles in terms of the following:

1. Folded up above the ankles only during salaah times.

2. Pants/jeans folded up at all times above the ankles

A: The pants should be kept above the ankles at all times, not only at namaaz time. Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (Radiallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “On the day of resurrection, Allah Ta’ala will not look (with mercy) at those who allowed their garments to hang below their ankles out of pride.” (Bukhaari).

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
