Asking for mahr after divorce

Q: My husband gave me a talaaq and remarried me. He hasn't given me mehr yet and we are divorced again. If I ask him for a certain amount of mehr, does he have to give that amount to me?

A: Did he remarry you after you had completed your iddat?

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Q: Replying to the question whether I sat in iddat. The iddat time had past and we had to make nikaah again. He hadn't given me mehr the second time. Am I allowed to ask him for the amount of mehr that I would like?

A: You are deserving of mahr. Since the mahr amount was not agreed upon at the time of the nikaah, you will be entitled to receiving mahr-e-mithal. Mahr-e-mithal refers to the traditional mahr of the girl's paternal family.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
