Making an effort to respect teacher

Q: One of my teachers does not talk to me because of some misunderstanding which was not my fault. I tried to explain to hime but he did not believe me. Now when I see him while driving, I put my hand up to greet him but he does not respond. I also see him in the supermarket but he just walks past me. I said salaam in a loud tone but he did not reply. My question is that as a Muslim is my duty fulfilled by trying to talk to him and if I see him I would make Salam or put my hand up. Will I be sinful because he does not not talk to me? Have I done my duty?

A: You should continue making Salaam to him and showing respect to him. If you continue fulfilling your duty and obligation, you will not be held responsible in the sight of Allah Ta'ala.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
