Masah on Waders (Fisherman's Boots)
Q: Is it permissible to make masah alal khuffain on a wader? (Fishermen use waders, it is like an overall with boots sewn to them)
A: If it has the basic essential qualities of a khuff i.e. (1) Water does not seep through (2) One can walk with for approx. 1 mile without it tearing (3) It stands firm without being tied with anything (4) It covers the entire foot including the ankles, then it will be permissible to make masah on such waders.
( شرط مسحه ) ثلاثة أمور الأول ( كونه ساتر ) محل فرض الغسل ( القدم مع الكعب )... ( و ) الثاني ( كونه مشغولا بالرجل ) ليمنع سراية الحدث فلو واسعا فمسح على الزائد ولم يقدم قدمه إليه لم يجز ولا يضر رؤية رجله من أعلاه ( و ) الثالث ( كونه مما يمكن متابعة المشي ) المعتاد ( فيه ) فرسخا فأكثر (الدر المختار 1/261-263)
