Q: Those that promote firearms and guns say that to carry a gun is Sunnat but it is more correct to say that to carry any weapon is Sunnat? Can it also be said that shooting in target practice is an act of reward? Can it also be said that carrying a firearm and making salaat is more rewarding than without a firearm?

Repeating the Jamaat Salaah due to the Imaam not having wudhu

Q: After the Esha Salaah, when the musallees had already performed their witr salaah, the Imaam made an announcement that the salaah had to be repeated as he did not have wudhu.

  1. Should the 2 sunnah and witr salaah also be repeated again?
  2. If nafl salaah was performed, should that also be repeated?

Q:  If a person says if Allah cures me I will not miss my salah and I will not listen to music etc.After this person was cured he missed his Salaah and he listened to music. Does he have to pay a different kaffaarah for every oath and can he pay the kaffaarah in cash?

Dental treatment whilst Fasting

Q: I am a dentist. A fasting patient requires urgent treatment e.g. extraction or draining abscess.

  1. Will this be permissable whilst fasting? Bear in mind
    • an injection is required
    • blood flows from extraction site
    • water may be put into patients mouth
  2. Will the fast need to be repeated?

  3. Can elective (non-emergency) procedures be done whilst a patient is fasting, where every effort is made to see that patient does not swallow water put in mouth.

Promising that one will not commit such and such a sin again

Q: If a person makes a dua: ‘Ya ALLAH i promise i will not commit such and such a sin again’. However, after making this promise if the person again commits the sin then will he have to give kaffarah for it?  Please can you also mention the amount of kaffarah?

Promising that one would never look at women lustfully ever again

Q: Yesterday I repented to Allah for staring at women, and promised Him that I would never look at women lustfully ever again. However, while making the promise, I did not realize that 'women' in general would also include my wife! Does this mean that from now on I should not even look at my wife with lust?
