Nikaah & Marriage Issues

Marrying a person with a Muslim name

Q: At work we have a muslim male who has been having relations with a non muslim female.we are not certain if she is a muslim ot not.the woman in this question was born and raised as a hindu. However 10 years ago when she started working for us she told us to call her by a muslim name.we want them to get married as both are elderly and we would like to see our muslim brother stop being so sinful.the woman still practises some hindu customs. Will this marriage to her be valid?

Repeating the nikaah

Q: A cousin of mine did sharai nikah with a person in the presence of bride and grooms parents but ruskhsti did not take place. Then due to few reason she thought of getting khulaah and she applied it in a court but before any further event they settle down out side court and did tajdeed-e-nikah. The question i want to ask is that is this new nikah jaiz or not. and can the girl's parents make her rukhsati with that person?

Un-Islamic marriages

Q: Many Muslims do not do marriages according to Islamic rulings these days. In my family, my elder brother got married but I did not attend his marriage. I think that where Muslims do not apply sunnah of Rasoolullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, I should not attend such celebrations. They marry like non-muslims, so I think we should not attend such marriages. I want to know if my thinking is correct?
I am asking this because I listened in lectures of Ulama that a believer should stop evil with hand. If one have not so much power to stop with hand, one should try to stop evil by mouth i.e. saying about the wrong. If one have not even this ability than one should feel it evil. Because of this this, I don't attend marriages where Islamic rules are avoided.

Refraining from areas of doubt

Q: I loved a girl. We both were in love for sometime and family come to know about us. My family accepted our relationship and my mom asked there daughter for the marriage for which they refused. We are not in touch after that. After one year they sent us the proposal that they want to marry this girl to me. But I come to know some strange facts that she also had a relationship with her uncles and she also has boy friends. I didn't know she was a cheat. I have all the proof that she used to talk with her cousin brother and uncles over the phone. Please advice me. Is it permissible to marry this kind of girl?

Treating one's children equally

Q: A person has one daughter and two sons. Throughout his lifetime he gave and did more financially for one of his sons and daughter (best of education, flat, car, medical bills etc) whilst doing very little for his other son. Although yes he has given it to them as gifts but from my point of view it does not seem fair to the child left out especially when you consider the child left out is very sickly (ps his medication is free) and how huge the financial difference is. No fund has been set up for the child left out. Could you please comment on this situation so as to ease my mind?

Treating one's children equally

Q: If a mother says to her daughter, "when you were sick I was not so worried about you. But when your brother was sick I was worried to death. See he is a male child and I feared, without him what would be my life then."

Should a mother say all these words to her daughter? Are daughters so useless, although Islam has reached and all of muslims know what our Sahab (peace be upon him) said about daughters. Please tell me what Allah says about that mothers, saying all these words. Does a mother have a right to say anything to children (female), even hurting them?

Subscribing to the beliefs of the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa'h

Q: I have questions about marriage. My grandparnt use to be go to jumatkhana, they were ismaily. But the new generation nobody goes to jumatkhana. I have never been there. Everyone in my family belives in Allah and Quran and my belief is also very strictly on Allah and Quran. I don't like to go to jumatkhana. When I got married we didn't know that my husband and his family were going to jummatkhana but my nikaah was the Islamic way so I lilke to know is my nikkah haraam or halaal. I have a 7 year old son too. We got separated for some other reasons.
