Q: Can a woman go for hajj with her son in law? Would a son in law be considered as a mahram?

Q: The ministry of hajj released an announcement that women can book to perform hajj without a mahram through the ‘women’s league’. Is this acceptable? What is the ruling on women and travel?

Q: Whilst making tawaaf, is  it permissible to be carrying one’s sandals in a plastic or cloth bag in one hand or in a shoulder bag? Otherwise, there is always a risk that the sandals would, in all most probability, go astray as has been my experience in the past.

Q: I want to perform hajj e badal for my father who passed away with the intention of performing hajj. My sister wants to put her share in hajj e badal in the form of sharing the expenses of hajj. Is it ok if my sister pools money with me and I perform hajj e badal for our father?

Q: I am living in Taif for work purposes. I frequently go for Umrah from Taif, however sometimes I go to Musjid ul Haraam to perform salaah such as the Jumuah salaah.

I have recently been told that it is not permissible to go to Musjid ul Haraam just to perform salaah as respect of the Haram demands that we wear ihraam and perform Umrah before entering to perform salaah. Can you please clarify if it is permissible for me to go to Musjid ul Haraam just to perform salaah without performing Umrah?

Q: Is it permissible to perform umrah on behalf of someone who is living without their knowledge or consent? I wish to perform umrah for my mother who is still alive.
