Performing Salaah with jeans
Q: Is it impermissible to wear jeans during the namaz and also not to fold the jeans upto the heel?
A: Wearing these types of clothing at the time of namaaz, the clothing of kuffaar and sinners really is not in keeping with the majesty and greatness of Allah. Further, if it is just the pants that are being worn at the time of namaaz and there is no cover over it then it shows the actual shape and form of the satr. This again defeats the purpose of covering the body.
This is makrooh.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
كل لباس يكون على خلاف السنة يكون لبسه مكروها وهو مثل أثواب الكفار واثواب الفسق والفجور وأهل الاشر والبطر مثل القرطق وإسبال الازار وتطويل الكم وتوسيعه (النتف في الفتاوى 1/251)
باب شروط الصلاة . . . (و) الرابع (ستر عورته) ووجوبه عام ولو في الخلوة على الصحيح إلا لغرض صحيح وله لبس ثوب نجس في غير صلاة (وهي للرجل ما تحت سرته إلى ما تحت ركبته) وشرط أحمد ستر أحد منكبيه أيضا (الدر المختار 1/404)
(وعادم ساتر) لا يصف ما تحته (الدر المختار 1/410)
قال العلامة ابن عابدين - رحمه الله -: (قوله لا يصف ما تحته ) بأن لا يرى منه لون البشرة احترازا عن الرقيق ونحو الزجاج (رد المحتار1/410)
