The belief of the Ahlus Sunnah regarding the parents of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam)

Q: I want to know about the belief of the Ahlus Sunnah regarding the parents of our beloved prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam). We know from some narration of Shaheeh Muslim that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) was prohibited to pray for forgiveness for his mother. So, what should be our belief on them?

A: The majority of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa`ah are of the opinion that we remain silent in this issue. Allah Ta`ala will not question us on the Day of Qiyaamah about their faith.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
