Discharging Zakaat before the Expiry of one Complete Lunar Year
Q: Is it permissible to discharge Zakaat before the expiry of one complete lunar year?
A: If one possesses wealth equal to nisaab it will be permissible for him to discharge the zakaat before the expiry of one lunar year. However, he should keep a record of the amount he discharged. At the completion of one year, if the wealth he possesses is more than the amount he gave zakaat for, he should give the difference.
( ولو عجل ذو نصاب ) زكاته ( لسنين أو لنصب صح ) لوجود السبب
و في رد المحتار : قوله ( لوجوب السبب ) أي سبب الوجوب وهو ملك النصاب النامي فيجوز التعجيل لسنة وأكثر كما إذا كفر بعد الجرح وكذا النصب لأن النصاب الأول هو الأصل في السببية والزائد عليه تابع له
قال في البحر ولا يخفى أن الأفضل عدم التعجيل للاختلاف فيه عند العلماء ولم أره منقولا (رد المحتار 2/293)
ويجوز التعجيل لأكثر من سنة لوجود السبب كذا في الهداية (الفتاوى الهندية 1/176)
