Four rakaat sunnah before the Azaan of Jumuah
Q: If a person starts reading the four rakat sunnah before the jumaah khutba azan, and azan begins, what do i do? Make it 2 rakats, or read all four rakats? If I start my sunnah before the azan of the khutba, and know that I can finish the full four rakats before the azan ends, can I perform the four rakats?
A: It is better to shorten the qiraat and complete the salaah. You may read the four rakaats if you know that you will complete by the time of the azaan.
(إذا خرج الإمام ) من الحجرة إن كان وإلا فقيامه للصعود شرح المجمع ( فلا صلاة ولا كلام إلى تمامها ) وإن كان فيها ذكر الظلمة في الأصح ( خلا قضاء فائتة لم يسقط الترتيب بينها وبين الوقتية ) فإنها لا تكره سراج وغيره لضرورة صحة الجمعة وإلا لا ولو خرج وهو في السنة أو بعد قيامه لثالثة النفل يتم في الأصح ويخفف القراءة (الدر المختار 2/158)
