Muazzin leading the Salaah

Q: Is it permissible in a masjid that in the absence of the pesh imam,the muazzin who is not an Alim or hafiz leads the prayer, despite the presence of several qualified moulana's and hafiz during the prayer regularly?

A: If he knows the masaa'il of salaah and he knows the sunnats of recitation etc. it is permissible for him to lead the salaah.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
