Applying surma and itr for the mayyit

Q:
- What is the law of using surma, itr on the mayyit?
- What is hanoot made of?
- Please give us a complete detail about giving ghussal for the mayyit, we are in this field.
A:
- It is not correct to apply surma for the mayyit. Itr should be applied on the forehead and those limbs that touch the ground at the time of sajdah.
- Hanoot refers to Itr.

( ولا يسرح شعره ) أي يكره تحريما (الدر المختار 2/ 197)
قال الشامي : قوله ( أي يكره تحريما ) لما في القنية من أن التنزيين بعد موتها والامتشاط وقطع الشعر لا يجوز (رد المحتار 2/ 197)
( ويجعل الحنوط ) وهو بفتح الحاء ( العطر المركب م الأشياء الطيبة غير زعفران وورس ) لكراهتهما للرجال وجعلهما في الكفن جهل ( على رأسه ولحيته ) ندبا ( والكافور على مساجده ) كرامة لها (الدر المختار 2/ 197)
