Performing Salaah on a bus or train

Q: Is it permissible to read Salaah while travelling in a car/bus / train by sitting (as there is no place to stand)? Is this permissible for all Salaah including fard? If standing is a pillar of fard Salaah, upto what duration the Salaatul qasr is applicable in case of return journey within some days.

A:

2. Yes. Provided one has the ability to stand.

3. One will continue performing qasr during one's journey till one reaches one's hometown or one reaches one's destination where one intends to stay for fifteen days or more.
