Performing salaah behind a clean shaven person who wears his pants below the ankles
Q:
1. I want to ask if it is permissible to pray Namaz behind such a person who is wearing clothing below the ankles and half sleeve shirt and also a clean shaven beard?
2. Is is permissible to tell him to keep his clothes above the ankles and wear full sleeve shirt ?
A:
1. It is impermissible in Shari'ah for one to shave his beard or to cut or trim it less than one fist. If one shaves his beard or trims it before one fist, he will be sinful. It is not permissible to appoint such a person to lead the Salaah. If such a person is appointed as an Imaam, the sin will be upon those who have appointed such a person as an Imaam. Performing Salaah with one's pants below one's ankles or while wearing a half sleeve shirt is makrooh.
