How should a masbooq complete the witr salaah?
Q:
1. In witr salaah in the month of Ramadhaan, how should a masbooq complete his salaah?
2. Is it wajib for the masbooq to recite dua-e-qunoot when he stands up to complete his salaah?
3. In which rakaat will the masbooq recite dua-e-qunoot?
A: If he performed the last rakaat with the imaam, then he will recite the dua-e-qunoot with the imaam. After the imaam completes the salaah, he will stand up, recite the sana, ta'awwuz, tasmiyah, qiraat of surah faatiha and surah and will thereafter complete the first rakaat and sit in tashahhud. Thereafter, he will stand up and perform the last rakaat with surah faatiha and a surah and complete the salaah as normal.
In the case where he joined the salaah after the imam came up from rukoo of the third rakaat or when the imaam was in the last qadah of the third rakaat, then after the imaam completes the salaah, he will stand up and perform his three rakaats in the normal manner that the witr salaah is performed (i.e. he will perform two rakaats, sit in tashahhud, thereafter stand up and perform the third rakaat. In the third rakaat, he will recite the dua-e-qunoot and complete the salaah).

المسبوق يقنت مع الإمام ولا يقنت بعده كذا في المنية فإذا قنت مع الإمام لا يقنت ثانيا فيما يقضي كذا في محيط السرخسي في قولهم جميعا كذا في المضمرات وإذا أدركه في الركعة الثالثة في الركوع ولم يقنت معه لم يقنت فيما يقضي كذا في المحيط.(الفتاوى الهندية 1: 111)
وأما المسبوق فيقنت مع إمامه فقط ويصير مدركا بإدراك ركوع الثالثة.(الدر المختار 2: 10)
(قوله فيقنت مع إمامه فقط) لأنه آخر صلاته، وما يقضيه أولهما حكما في حق القراءة وما أشبهها وهو القنوت؛ وإذا وقع قنوته في موضعه بيقين لا يكرر لأن تكراره غير مشروع شرح المنية.(رد المحتار 2: 10)
(والمسبوق) في الوتر (يقنت مع الإمام) بناء على أن المقتدي يقنت هو الصحيح ، فإذا قنت مع الإمام (لا) يقنت (بعدها) أي الركعة التي قنت فيها مع الإمام لأنه قنت في موضع القتوت بيقين.( حلبي صغير 250)
المسبوق من لم يدرك الركعة الأولى مع الإمام وله أحكام كثيرة كذا في البحر الرائق ... ومنها أنه يقضي أول صلاته في حق القراءة وآخرها في حق التشهد حتى لو أدرك ركعة من المغرب قضى ركعتين وفصل بقعدة فيكون بثلاث قعدات وقرأ في كل فاتحة وسورة ولو ترك القراءة في إحداهما تفسد ولو أدرك ركعة من الرباعية فعليه أن يقضي ركعة يقرأ فيها الفاتحة والسورة ويتشهد ويقضي ركعة أخرى كذلك ولا يتشهد وفي الثالثة بالخيار والقراءة أفضل هكذا في الخلاصة ولو أدرك ركعتين قضى ركعتين بقراءة ولو ترك في إحداهما فسدت (الفتاوى الهندية 1: 90-91)
