Becoming an actor

Q: Am I allowed to become an actor as long as I do not commit any haraam?

A: Photography and filming is totally haraam and impermissible for both men and women. Furthermore, there are other sins that one will get involved in when filming, such as intermingling etc. In essence, this type of occupation defeats the actual purpose of a Muslim’s life. Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) has said:

إن أشد الناس عذابا عند الله يوم القيامة المصورون (صحيح البخاري رقم 5950)

“Those involved in picture-making will be subjected to the worst forms of punishment on the Day of Qiyaamah.”

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
