Tawaaf e ziyaarah and Tawaaf e widaa

Q: What is Tawaafuz Ziyaarah and Tawaafaul Widaa? How will one compensate for not performing it?

A: Tawaaf e ziyaarah is among the fard acts of hajj. If a haaji leaves out the tawaaf e ziyaarah, he /she will remain in the state of ihraam until they complete it. This tawaaf cannot be compensated by any other action or by giving dam.

Tawaaf e widaa refers to the farewell tawaaf before leaving Makkah Mukaramah. This tawaaf is waajib. If one leaves out this tawaaf, dam becomes compulsory upon him/her. However, concession is granted to women in the state of haiz or nifaas to leave out this tawaaf.
