Q: Is it true that all peaceful verses was abrogated by war verses in the Quraan? Is it also true that Surah Kafiroon was revealed when the Muslims were weak... When Muslims got the power to fight against disbelievers Surah kafiroon was abrogated? Ad-Dahhak bin Muzahim said, it abrogated every agreement of peace between the prophet and any idolator, every treaty and every term. (Tafsir ibn kathir on 9:5) Al-Awfi said that Ibn Abbas commented "No idolator had anymore treaty or promise of safety ever since Surah Bara'ah was revealed (Tafsir ibn kathir on 9:5)
Can you enlighten us with your answer?
A: Islam stands for peace, and if war has to be waged then it is to establish peace, not to eliminate peace. Just as a prison is not to destroy happiness, but it is a correctional service to show people the path of happiness.
