Maintaining one's hindu culture after accepting Islam

Q: I'm a Muslim but my boyfriend is Hindu. He is going to convert to Islam and then we will get married. My question is that he wants to keep his culture the way it was so is it permissable for me to follow his ways e.g. he wants a Hindu wedding, so can I do that even though we are going to do nikaah.

Also I am willing to turn vegetarian because that's what he was brought up to be so is that also permissible?

A: If he wants to maintain his hindu culture, remain a vegetarian and get married in the temple, it means that he still wants to remain a hindu and do everything the hindu way. He only wishes to conveniently embrace islam so that he can marry you. This way is totally unacceptable in islam and such a person will be considered to remain a kaafir. If you marry such a person, you will be perpetually living in zina and there is great fear of him and his family influencing you towards Hinduism. If you have children from this haraam union, the children will be influenced towards disbelief and shirk. They will be compelled to attend the temple prayers and celebrate diwali with the hindu family.

How can you ever think of sacrificing your deen and relationship with Allah Ta’ala for this kaafir. Immediately cut off all ties with him and seek Allah Ta’ala's forgiveness. You should get married to a pious and upright believer who is compatible to you.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
