Standing and urinating
Q: Is it allowed to urinate standing using a urine pot which does not splash urine and keeps the clothes clean?
A: The sunnah method of relieving oneself is that one relives oneself in the squatting posture. This will be fulfilled through using the eastern toilet. In this way one will save oneself from the urine splashes and carry out the istinja in accordance to the sunnah method.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
عن عائشة قالت: من حدثكم أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يبول قائما فلا تصدقوه ما كان يبول إلا قاعدا (سنن الترمذي، الرقم: 12)
ويكره أن يبول قائما أو مضطجعا أو متجردا عن ثوبه من غير عذر (البحر الرائق 1/256)
ويكره أن يبول أو يتغوط في الماء والظل والحجر والطريق وتحت شجرة مثمرة والبول قائما إلا من عذر (نور الإيضاح صــ 20)
ويكره أن يبول قائما أو مضطجعا أو متجردا عن ثوبه من غير عذر فإن كان بعذر فلا بأس به (الفتاوى الهندية 1/50)
