Q: I want to have a reputation for generosity or to be known for that good quality, is that allowed in Islam and will I also have the reward on Yawmul Qiyamah?
A: The actual merit is that Allah Ta`ala appreciates your generosity, and people recognising the generosity is insignificant because what can people do.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
