Earning halaal

Q: There is a saying written on Pakistani notes (money): رزق حلال کمانا عین عبادت ہے
Is this a hadeeth? Does that mean that one should respect money i.e. not throw it on the floor, etc.?
A: We have not come across any such hadeeth. Perhaps the ibaadat here is referring to an obligation. There is a hadeeth that says that to earn halaal is an obligation.
No. It means to make a halaal living is an obligation.
