Woman not wearing hijaab in a Western country and living alone

Q: I am living alone in Canada. Because of racism here in Canada, do I have to wear hijab or not? I am very scared of the racism. I was wearing hijab before when I was in Dubai, but when I moved to Canada, people always used to tell me not to wear hijab as I am living alone and I will not get a job because of wearing the hijab. I am very confused. Kindly advise.

A: Yes, hijaab is compulsory for females. Hence, you should fulfil the command of Allah Ta'ala and place your trust and reliance upon Him. He will surely take care of you. It is not safe and good for a woman to be living all alone. If she is not married, then she should be staying with her parents and family. In this, there is more protection for her life, respect and Deen. If you find it difficult to practice your Deen in the place you live in, then you should move to a place where you will be able to practice your Deen without fear and hardships.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
