Calling Shias kaafirs

Q: I belong to a community who believes that majority of Shia are kaafir and want me to call them kaafir too. When I say that I leave this to Allah to decide as I am no one to judge then they call my aqeedah distorted and some even go further by saying that I am an Athiest.

Is it mandatory to call others kaafirs or what does Islam say for people who don’t want to give their verdict?

A: This does not amount to giving a verdict. Rather, it is calling a spade a spade. Like you would say a boy to be a boy and a girl to be a girl. This is not passing a verdict. This is merely saying what he or she is. If there is impure water before you, you will say that it is impure. That does not amount to passing a verdict and being judgemental. Likewise, by saying that swine is haraam, it does not mean that you are passing a verdict that it is haraam.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
