Rasulullah's (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) love for his Ummat

Q: When in front of a Muslim audience, what is the ruling on saying Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) loves you all? Is it said that rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) loves all the Muslims and non-Muslims?

A: There is no doubt that Hadhrat Rasul-e-Paak (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) loves his ummat. Allah Ta`ala says in the Qur'aan Shareef: The nabi is closer to you than your own selves i.e. the attachment he has with you is greater than the attachment you have to your own selves.

The attachment with the believers is confirmed from the Qur'aan. Overall, Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) was a mercy for all the world as Allah Ta`ala states: "We have not sent you but as a mercy for all the worlds."

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
