Taking weed or cannabis for medicinal purposes

Q: There's been a debate about the different forms of weed/cannabis that can be taken. Apparently smoking it is different from eating it in a brownie or maybe a gum form. Is this allowed? Or is any form of this product permissible?

Is it allowed for medical purposes? Maybe anxiety/depression etc.? Please advise .

A: For medicinal purposes, it is permissible, on condition that it is taken to that proportion where one will not become intoxicated. When taking it for medicinal purposes, the medication should either be administered by a doctor or taken after consulting a doctor.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
