Making zikr with a portion of one's satr being open
Q: Is it permissible to make any form of zikr when one's satr is open. Like wearing a three-quarter trouser where below one's knees is open. What type of zikr can be made with one's satr opened.
A: The satr area should be covered when making zikr. It is not permissible to engage in zikr while the satr area is exposed. The satr area is between the navel and the knee (including the knee). If the area below the knee is exposed, then it is permissible for a woman to engage in zikr in this state, however it is not permissible for a woman to come before non mahram males in this condition while the area below the knee is exposed. However, it is important that a woman clad herself properly when engaging in zikr.
