Will one be punished if his roommate doesn't perform salaah?

Q: I offer namaz alhamdulilah but I live in a shared flat with my cousin and he sleeps all day and works night shift and doesn't offer namaz. He is 10 years older than me. I have told him a few times to offer namaz but he doesn't. Will I get azaab (punishment) as well?

A: No, you will not be punished for his wrongs. You have done your duty by explaining to him. However, you should show him good character and speak to him politely, perhaps this will draw his heart towards Islam and motivate him to become a better Muslim.
