Performing salaah behind an imaam who trims his beard

Q: If you happen to pray behind an imaam without a beard or with a trimmed beard, the jamaat prayer will be beneficial. But the prayer is not fulfilled. So I heared for a bayaan that you pray the prayer personally.

This needs clarification. Because the imam who prays in our masjid has a habit of cutting his beard.

A: It is impermissible (makrooh-e-tahreemi) to appoint a person who shaves his beard or trims it less than one fist length as the Imaam. However, if such a person is appointed as the Imaam, the sin will not be upon the musallis, but rather upon the Imaam and upon those who appointed him as the Imaam. If there is no other musjid in your locality, then you should perform salaah behind this Imaam.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
