Women going out to work out of necessity
Q: Please explain to me If I am doing a sin? My dad passed away! As I am the elder one! I have to work for my families bread! There are a lot of gents working! Many non Muslim gents working! I have to interact with them! My senior is a Hindu! I have to explain all my tasks to him, pending works etc! I am in hijaab and I only talk about official work! One of my relations (girl) says that I am doing sin! I will not be allowed in jannah! Please tell me what to do.
A: You need to try and see if you can generate an income from within the home to support the family. If for some reason you cannot, in spite of trying you will be excused. However, you should ensure that you do not mix up with males or talk to them casually. You should observe all the laws of hijaab.

وَقَرْنَ فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّ وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ الْأُولَى وَأَقِمْنَ الصَّلَاةَ وَآتِينَ الزَّكَاةَ وَأَطِعْنَ اللَّـهَ وَرَسُولَهُ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّـهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا (سورة الاحزاب آية 33)
عن علي رضي الله عنه أنه كان عند رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال أي شيء خير للمرأة فسكتوا فلما رجعت قلت لفاطمة أي شيء خير للنساء قالت ألا يراهن الرجال فذكرت ذلك للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال إنما فاطمة بضعة مني رضي الله عنها (مسند البزار رقم 526)
وحيث أبحنا لها الخروج فإنما يباح بشرط عدم الزينة وتغير الهيئة إلى ما يكون داعية لنظر الرجال والاستمالة قال الله تعالى ولا تبرجن تبرج الجاهلية الأولى (رد المحتار 3/604)
