Going for 3 days, 40 days and 4 months in jamaat

Q: People belonging to the jamaat go for 3, 10, 40 days or 4 months. Is this according to the sunnah? Please provide daleel

A: This is a treatment. It is like the Madrasah; it operates from Monday to Friday in most places. Ta`leem is fardh and this is just a procedure to acquire ta`leem. In tableegh the correction is the purpose and the 3 days, 40 days etc. is just a procedure to attain the goal of correction and reformation.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
