Concerned about being overweight

Q: I've always struggled with my weight and its something that always makes me feel ugly. Last week my father told me I look horrible and no man will ever marry me. I've become depressed and cry a lot. I have started dieting. My question is: Since they say Allah has predetermined our spouses, will the man I'm suppose to marry not like me just because I'm overweight?

A: Don’t put your mind to that. Just continue as a normal Muslim. Keep asking Allah Ta`ala for His favours and bounties, and that He conceals your weaknesses. May Allah Ta`ala grant you that which is best for you.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
