Covering pictures of animate objects
Q: If there is a animated picture beside me when praying, is it sufficient to place some a shield before it so that it is not visible anymore to me from every angle of my prayer place, or must it be totally packed in?
A: The correct thing is that the animate object be destroyed. However is one is in a place where one does not have control and is unable to destroy the animate object, then one should cover the animate object and then perform Salaah.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

ويكره أن يكون فوق رأسه في السقف أو بين يديه أو بحذائه تصاوير أو صورة معلقة لحديث جبريل إنا لا ندخل بيتا فيه كلب أو صورة ولو كانت الصورة صغيرة بحيث لا تبدو للناظر لا يكره لأن الصغار جدا لا تعبد (الهداية 1/ 142)
