Husband perceiving extra love within his heart for one wife
Q: Is there any sin if one perceives more love within his heart for one wife, though he shows equal attention and maintains equality between his wives?
A: Since one does not have control over one’s emotions and inner feelings, one will not be sinful and accountable if one perceives extra love within one’s heart towards one wife. However, on account of the extra love one should not show more affection and attention to that wife.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

قال في رد المحتار: أما المحبة فهي ميل القلب وهو لا يملك. (رد المحتار 3/202)
ومما يجب على الأزواج للنساء العدل والتسوية بينهن فيما يملكه والبيتوتة عندها للصحبة والمؤانسة لا فيما لا يملك وهو الحب والجماع كذا في فتاوى قاضي خان. (الفتاوى الهندية 1/340)
