Secret nikaah
Q: I have a boyfriend and we are in a relationship and he is not socially setteld yet so his parents are not willing for nikkah now but we want a nikkah because without it we are making sins and it is haram. We want to make our relationship halal so till he will not be settled properly we want nikkah to avoid a great sins. Can we do a secret nikkah ??
A: If both your parents are happy with the nikaah, then do not delay in performing the nikaah. Delaying in performing the nikaah is against the teachings of deen and against the sunnah. Through delaying the nikaah, generally sins and wrongs take place between the boy and girl and the blessings of the nikaah are lost.
It is mentioned in the hadith that when a suitable match is found for the girl, then the nikaah should not be delayed. Delaying in performing the nikaah will lead to widespread corruption and sins occurring in the land.
