Reward of 25 years of ibaadah for performing four rakaats on the first of Zul Hijjah
Q: Is it true that praying four rakat of nafil on the first of Zil Hijjah give the reward of 25 years praying?
A: The month of Zul Hijjah is among the four sacred months of the Islamic calender. Good deeds carried out in these months, whether in the night or day, are more virtuous than good deeds carried out in other months. Similarly, sins committed in these months are more serious than sins carried out in other months.
Apart from this, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) mentioned special virtues for the first ten days of Zul Hijjah. Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “There are no days in the year wherein the worship of Allah Ta‘ala is more beloved to Him than the first ten days of Zul Hijjah.”
However, we have not come across any hadith specifying the reward of receiving 25 years of ibaadah for performing four rakaats on the first of Zul Hijjah.
Note: The four sacred months are regarded as the most virtuous of months after the month of Ramadhaan.
