Shaving a newborns hair and carrying out the aqeeqah on the seventh day after childbirth

Q:

1. Is shaving the hair of a newborn child done before the aqeeqah or can we shave the child's hair after?

2. Can parents eat from the aqeeqah meat or not?

A:

1. It is mustahab to shave the child's hair and carry out the aqeeqah on the seventh day after child birth. However, if the child's hair is shaved before the seventh day, then it is permissible.

2. Yes, it is permissible for the parents and family to eat from the aqeeqah meat and they can also feed it to others (family, friends, poor, needy, etc.).

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
