Getting one's periods when going for umrah
Q: I am traveling from Qatar to perform umrah but I have got my periods and I can’t wait until my periods are over as we have our flights booked. What can I do?
A: It is best for you to delay the flight till after you become paak and perform the umrah. However, if this is not possible and you remain in the state of ihraam and haidh throughout your stay in Makkah Mukarramah, then when you return to your homeland (Qatar), you should appoint someone to slaughter a sheep or goat in the precincts of the Haram on your behalf in order for you to come out of ihraam. Once the animal is slaughtered, it will be halaal for you to come out of the state of ihraam. The meat of the animal slaughtered should be distributed among the poor.
