Cupping

Q: I have heard that cupping is sunnat, and have also heard that cupping is not Sunnat. Which is the correct view? I was under the impression that all that Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam advised or did was Sunnat. Please can Mufti Saheb explain why cupping is not Sunnat and how things get classified as Sunnat?

A: This is a treatment and taking a treatment is permissible. The advise was to show permissibility and it should be practised by those who are fully qualified and competent in this art.
