Few questions regarding Salaah

Q: I would just like to get clarity on a few aspects of Salaah (hanafi).

  1. What is the correct way of performing ruku, does one say Allahu akbar first and then bend down, or does one say Allahu akbar in the motion of bending?
  2. In witr Salaah, does one drop their hands and then raise it for dua Qunoot, or can one raise their hands directly from the folded position?
  3. After salaah, I know it's sunnah to say Astaghfirullah thrice, is it also sunnah to say Allahu akbar once then astaghfirullah thrice?
  4. Is salaah valid if in a 4 rakaats fard salaah, after surah Fatiha of the 3rd rakaah, you say just 'bis' of Tasmiyah before realising you don't read a surah now? If it is valid, what is the maximum length of Tasmiyah which may have been recited mistakenly without invalidating Salaah?

Studying electrical engineering

Q: I would like to study and become and electrical engineer. I live in the UK and working in this field means doing the job in domestic homes, factories, outside work, in offices and business, construction sites etc. Also men and women mixing is unavoidable. There may be a time (whether it's continuous or not) when I have a female client for a home domestic job, or an office company where men and women mix and whose company is something haram or a mix of haram and halal, like insurance or entertainment, restaurant that may sell alcohol.

My question is: Can I still do this work for clients or provide them my services who may sometimes be women or a business which is haram, as the work may be varied; so one day at someone's home who is a woman or a business whose dealings are either haram or mixed, and another day with men and with a business that is halal for example?  Do I need to be picky? My job would be to just provide them with a service and my intention would be to earn a living. Would my earning be haram in any way?

Jilbab

Q: My question is based on my recent reading of Qur'an (specifically verses 24:31, 24:60 and 33:59) and the following Hadiths (Sunan Abu Dawud Book 32 4090, Sahih Bukhari Book 8 347, Sahih Bukhari Book 72 684, Sahih Bukhari Book 10 552 and Sunan Abu Dawud Book 32 4091) which focus on the subject of a Muslim woman's dress. My questions are:

  1. Is an outergarment (jilbab) compulsary?
  2. Is there any specifications for this jilbab such as it should cover from head-to-toe, be an overcoat etc? Or could it be any outer garment wrapped around one's body such as the dupatta or saree end (in the case of Indian clothes)?
  3. And if the jilbab in the form of a coat/cloak is not fard and can assume any form such as a dupatta or large headscarf over a regular skirt-and-blouse combination, then would you please explain the meaning of the verse 24:60?

Experiencing problems in getting married

Q: I am 25 years of age, no proposal came for marriage, moreover even my parents don't want me to get married for the next 2 years. I feel lonely, all my friends are either engaged or married. I can't tell it to my parents that I want to get married as I am a girl. Please give me some wazifa, that I can read, in order to be blessed with a suitable spouse. We also don't have sufficient means to arrange my marriage.

Standing in the saff alone

Q: My question is about a random salafi brother that came up to me after Salah and he is like you should not have stood alone at the back your Salah is not accepted. I believe its Makrooh to stand alone in a Saaf. There was no space and later someone joined as well. I just wanted dalil for my self not for anyone else. I got very irritated because I could see he was just bringing up issue after issue. Allhumdulilah I read your fatwas everyday, he went on after that talking about where we place our hands and he was like Walahi the hadith is daaif about Ali Radhiallahu anho. I was so shocked he was taking Qasam on everything. I have read proofs from your website about the hands. My main concern is my intention. I am going to be starting Alim course soon. Could you explain the type of intention I should have when studying and coming across people like this. I know everything is for the sake of Allah. But I felt very angry towards this person more then anything and I had this feeling which was from shaitaab to prove him wrong.
