Smoking and Intoxicants

Q: What is the ruling regarding smoking and vaping?

There are a lot of youngsters who occupy themselves with these acts and justify their actions by quoting muftis old fatwa about cigarettes/vapes. They say that it’s not haraam, but only makrooh. Hence, they do it. They say things like it makes them feel good and relaxes them when they’re stressed out, but isn’t this a form of intoxication?

Q: Is it haraam to smoke vape?

Q: Is nutmeg and sesame seeds regarded as intoxicants in terms of the Shariah? What amount would be permissible to consume?

Q: I am a practicing Muslim, I don't miss my salaahs or daily Quraan but I just can't seem to shake off the occasional drug habit. I make dua everyday for help. What should I do?

1. Is it makrooh to smoke cigarettes? Is taubah necessary?

2. Can one work for a cigarette company?

3. Can a Madrasah accept donations from a cigarette company?

4. Can a Madrasah accept donations from a business that sells many items as well as cigarettes?

Q: My husband recently started smoking vape and has been doing it secretly. I've suspected it a few times and asked him, and he denied it. It started troubling his conscience and he eventually told me about it. I was very disheartened because he never used to do those sort of things and he knows how much I hate it. He said that I must please help him stop the habit.

Can Mufti please advise me on how to go about helping him? He stopped for about 2 months and today I found that he started again. I dont know what to do as I dislike it so much and feel very uncomfortable with it.

Q: If one was to indulge in smoking cannabis/weed and later regrets and makes taubah.

1. Will ones salaah be accepted before 40 days are over?

2. Will ones nikaah be valid if performed within the 40 days?

Q: If a person sniffs cocaine, does his prayers, fasting and good deeds not count for 40 days even though it takes 5 to 14 days to come out from the persons system?

Q: If a person sniffs cocaine or smokes weed, does the persons prayers, fasting and good deeds not count for 40 days, even though it is out of the persons system?
