Salaah

Ishraaq and Chaasht Salaah

Q:

  1. What time is best to read chaasht Salah 10 or 11 o clock and also what time does it start?
  2. If we read chaasht does it give barakah in food, if yes whats the daleel.
  3. Did the prophet read Ishraaq and chaasht? I heard to read 2 rakah ishraq, Allah gives you the reward of umrah. Whats the daleel?

Qadha Salaah Fajr and Asr

Q:

  1. The prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) prohibited us from reading Salah after asr, so why are we allowed to do qadha namaz after asar and after fajr?
  2.  If one misses witr at night can we do qadha in the morning. If yes why because time has finished for witr at Dawn?

Making a sajdah out of Salaah

Q: In the hanafi mazhab, what is the status of making a single sajdah out of namaaz. I have seen many people do this. I have tried to explain to some that a single sajdah should not be made rather a coplete 2 raka'aat should be read but they don't understand. The reply they give is, "I cannot make a sajdah of shukr?" Should they still be told? And if so, how should they be explained?

Performing Salaah in multi faith prayer rooms

Q: Is it permissable to pray in multi faith prayer rooms, such as the ones they usually have at airports? These rooms are mostly used by Muslims but also some non-Muslims use them for praying and apart from Islamic material they also contain bibles and books of other religions. The question came to my mind since, if I remember it correctly, we are not allowed to enter into buildings of worship of other religions?

Respect for the Azaan

Q: I would like to know what is the Sunnah regarding when the Adhan is being performed. At our Ibadaat Khanna a few of our Muslim brothers in Islam, are talking or having a conversation one of them is busy scrolling on his cell phone. This happens on a daily basis and  they are over 45 and 60 years of age.

Salaah with Jamaat

Q: Does the narration of Hazrat Ali Radhiyallahu Anhu regarding the neighbour of the masjid "his salaah will not be proper unless performed in the masjid" also apply to the neighbour of a musalla (jama'at khana)? If he hears the azaan of the Musalla, will it also be waajib to attend that jama'at?

Taking one's work break in Salaah time

Q: I would like to know if there is any labour law that states that an employee is allowed to take his or her breaks at work when it is Salaah times eg. @1pm for Zuhr then Asr, Maghrib & Esha & for the month of Ramadaan do we as muslims have the right to not work compulsory late shifts in this month in order for us to be able to perform our Tarawih Salaah. I work in a call centre enviroment & our break times are always scheduled to us out of Salaah times & some weeks we have to work late shifts from 11am to 8pm & early from 7am to 4:30pm & we are restricted to take our breaks together. I am always making my salaah past the time. I really feel very depressed when I am at work or at home for this very reason & it really eats on me all the time especially when I have heard so many talks & read many books about one who neglects his or her Salaah & yet I am still continuing to do this very sinful act over & over for so the 6 years that I am working here. Please Mufti saab I would really like you to help me & other muslims at work.
